MY STORY

Ballet to Yoga

I was born and raised in The Netherlands with a Dutch-Mexican background. As a young teen I attended a semi-professional ballet school. At first I started doing yoga to become more flexible and lose weight. But it gave me much more than that!

Moving Meditation

Yoga became my way to move mindfully, like a moving meditation. It helped me to drop into my body and release anxiety. Slowly I started to incorporate meditation into my practice. It wasn’t easy to sit still with my thoughts and it’s still not always easy, but this is completely normal! 

Positive Changes and Big Moves

A mindful morning routine with my yoga practice was like an anchor as I moved through college, got married and left The Netherlands to start a new life in the USA.

Yoga took on a whole new form. There was not always time or opportunity to do a yoga class. But one deep breath and a stretch go a long way!

Yoga Teacher

When I started teaching yoga, it was a gift on so many levels. 

It’s priceless to see that healthy glow on my students’ faces after a class! Seeing my students improve at their own pace, feeling empowered on their yoga mats makes my heart dance! 

Taking the 200 HR Uplifted Yoga Teacher Training was the best thing I’ve ever done! I will always be a student first and love learning more and sharing my knowledge with you!

Motherhood
