Happy 2020!
May your new year be filled with good health and blessings!
Do you have New Year’s resolutions? If one of them is to achieve overall health then you’re in for a treat! Keep reading:)
Start your new year with healthy habits! Achieve physical and mental health, strength and flexibility with the 7 Day Yoga Challenge on my YouTube Channel: only 5 minutes of easy yoga a day!
Having New Years Resolutions is nice, sticking with it is another story! But when you take small steps and keep consistency, it’s easier to develop a new habit. I highly suggest to do the challenge in the morning, as soon as you wake up, for best results.
Day 1: Easy & Gentle Stretch
Do you find it hard to get up and get motivated to exercise? How about an easy and gentle stretch to get you started? We’ll start by lying down on our back. You could even do this 5 minute yoga practice in bed, as soon as you wake up!
Enjoy stretches that massage the lower back and relieves tension in the lower back and hip area.
From there, we’ll gently stretch the hamstrings and legs. Slowly working our way to all fours (on hands and knees) to warm up the spine and open the chest while connecting movement with breath.
We’ll end in a seated position as we open up our side body. Notice how energized you feel in your body and calm in your head: ready to start your day!
Day 2: Core Strength & Stretch
Now that we started the Challenge, let’s keep up the good energy! To lay down the foundation of a successful daily yoga routine, we’ll strengthen our abdominal muscles.
Having a strong core will also help with other yoga poses to increase strength and healthy flexibility. You’ll learn how the breath will assist you as you’re feeling the burn in your abs. After our core work we’ll enjoy some good stretches!
Day 3: Hip Stretch
Do you sit a lot? Are your hips tight? Then you’re in for a treat! Today we’ll melt into hip-opening poses that are perfect for all levels.
All the hip stretches are done while lying down on our back (reclined), for a more gentle approach. For optimal stretching we’ll take deep breaths as tension is released.
Day 4: Stress Relief
Feeling overwhelmed and stressed out? In this class you’ll learn grounding and calming poses you can do any time of the day to relieve stress. You can come back to this short but very effective practice any time you need it as it’s perfect for all levels.
Day 5: Full Body Stretch
No time for a full yoga class but still crave the full body effect? Learn how a few yoga poses are great for your whole body! In this class I’ll guide you through some of my personal favorite poses!
Day 6: Wake Up Flow
The best time of the day is to do yoga in the morning, as soon as you get up! Master some basic poses that you can do every day, even after the Challenge is done! You can do this 5 minute practice as a warm up for a longer yoga session or a work-out as well.
Day 7: Feel Good Poses
You made it! Congratulations for showing up every day in this challenge! Let’s finish with a bang! In this practice we’ll open our chest and heart among other feel good poses! Feel the positive energy flowing in your body and let it ripple into your daily life off the yoga mat!
